2025 Season

Peter Smith - PRESIDENT

Peter Smith is a 30 year veteran in the Commercial Banking space in management and business development who enjoys spending his free time at the South Shore Country Club as a permit holder.  Peter brings his experiences to the roles of President and Secretary/Clerk in helping to organize FSSCC’s many events. A college football player and coach, Peter dedicated years to Hingham Football/Baseball as a coach and mentor. Growing up in Maine, Peter enjoys the outdoors and being an active member of his community.

Christine Smith - secretary

Christine is a former member of the Country Club Management Committee since 2018, including serving as Chair.  An original Friends of the SSCC Board member, Christine has championed bringing back the town pool as she enjoys swimming.  Despite a career in Private Banking, she continues to be a struggling golfer. Moving to Hingham in 1998, she has served her community in many different ways, including a 6 year term on the School Committee and President of Harbormen Football boosters. In her free time, she and her husband Peter have enjoyed raising their 3 boys while attending multiple sporting events and long hikes with their family pets. 

Patty Krumholz - Treasurer

Patty returns to the FSSCC Board as the Treasurer in 2025.  Last year Patty was instrumental in meeting our fundraising goals and keeping costs low!  Patty is a longtime Hingham resident, SSCC permit holder and member of the Women’s Golf Association.  When she and her husband Josh are not traveling the world, she serves as a Ranger at Hingham’s Worlds End and is the head coach of the successful Hingham High School Girls Tennis team!

Dave McCowan - Board Member and SSCC Course Improvement Lead

Dave leverages his digital skills to help keep FSSCC organized and to grow our membership.  Dave is a SSCC permit holder and two-time Club Champion.  Dave works with the SSCC leadership in establishing priorities for course improvements, with the overall goal of restoring the course to its original 1922 design.  When Dave is not crushing it on the golf course, he lives in Scituate with his wife where they raised 3 daughters.

Murnie Leary - FSSCC Board Member

Lifelong Hingham resident and longtime South Shore Country Club permit holder, Murnie directed Hingham Nursery School for over 40 years. She has enjoyed researching the rich history of the South Shore Country Club and its ties to the community.  In 2022, Murnie volunteered to lead the extremely successful SSCC 100th Anniversary Hingham Historical Society Event, and she continues to provide her leadership to FSSCC events.

Chris Mullin - FSSCC Board Member

A South Shore Country Club permit holder and very frequent golfer, Chris contributes his talents to digital tasks, including maintaining the FSSCC website, and with FSSCC events and fundraisers. Outside of SSCC, Chris has dedicated his career to advancing environmental and other public interest causes. Chris is a longtime resident of Quincy and joined FSSCC to support enhancements to our beautiful, century-old golf course.

Frank Brown - Board Member at Large

Former New York Daily News columnist, National Hockey League executive and Hockey Hall Of Fame honoree, Frank Brown moved to the Hingham area in 2019. A South Shore Country Club permit holder and avid golfer, Frank has contributed his wealth of marketing and “Story telling” skills to expand the role of the FSSCC in the community. Frank donated his talents as the co-chair and emcee of the SSCC 100th Anniversary Hingham Historical Society Event.


Patty Gilbert McDonald - FORMER board member & President

Patty was the President of the FSSCC through 2024.  A lifelong Hingham resident, Patty initially volunteered with the FSSCC 6 years ago with the goal of bringing back the Town Pool for the next generations of Hingham Families. Like many Hingham residents, she quickly learned of the incredible role the SSCC has played in the Hingham Community, and is now struggling to learn the game of golf.  Patty sings in 3 music groups in Hingham, teaches at George Mason University and is is a Senior Consultant at SEI-Boston.
